1. Product Overview

The IOTA-950# series methyl silicone transparent resin is a highly crosslinked organosilicon resin primarily used as a reinforcing agent for polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and polycarbonate (PC). After film formation, the resulting coating exhibits excellent properties such as hardness, abrasion resistance, water resistance, and wide-range thermal stability (from -50°C to 250°C), while maintaining high transparency—with light transmittance exceeding 90% in the visible spectrum. This makes it especially suitable for surface treatment of thermosetting plastics that require improved wear resistance, hardness, and overall performance. It is also used in the electronics industry, such as for anti-flicker coatings on CRT anode caps and as a viscosity modifier in coatings.
