Insight into the development of polysilazane industry

In recent years, as a new type of coating, polysilazane has gradually entered the civilian production from the military application, and has played an increasingly important role in the field of coating. Polysilazane is a class of polymers with Si-N bond as the repeating unit in the main chain. Since A. STCK et al first reported the preparation of polysilazane using ammonia chlorolysilane in 1921, researchers have been studying polysilazane for nearly a century. However, due to the complex preparation process, ‌ did not enter the stage of commercial development until the 1950s. ‌

Polysilazane resin is a very few inorganic polymer compounds that can be cured at room temperature and heated to form high-performance film materials. The hardness after curing can reach more than 9h, with wear resistance, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, water resistance and radiation characteristics. It is mainly divided into two categories, inorganic polysilazanes (PHPS) and organic polysilazanes (OPSZ).

Polysilazane (‌PSZ) ‌ is a kind of inorganic polymer whose main chain is Si-N bond as repeating unit. ‌ has special structure and properties. ‌ At present, the mainstream products of polysilazane include polysilazane coatings, polysilazane sealing materials, polysilazane composite materials, polysilazane sealant and polysilazane plastics, etc. All of them have excellent insulation properties, high temperature resistance and chemical stability, and are widely used in semiconductor, optoelectronics, aerospace and other fields.
