What is vinyl silicone oil

Chemical name: Double sealed vinyl silicone oil
Its main structural feature is that part of the methyl group (Me) in the polydimethylsiloxane is replaced by vinyl (Vi), thus forming a reactive polymethylvinylsiloxane. Because of its unique chemical structure, vinyl silicone oil shows the physical form of liquid fluid.

Vinyl silicone oil is mainly divided into two types: end vinyl silicone oil and high vinyl silicone oil. Among them, end-vinyl silicone oil mainly includes end-vinyl polydimethylsiloxane (Vi-PDMS) and end-vinyl polymethylvinylsiloxane (Vi-PMVS). Because of the different vinyl content, it has different application characteristics.

The reaction mechanism of vinyl silicone oil is similar to that of dimethyl silicone oil, but because of the vinyl group in its structure, it has higher reactivity. In the process of preparing vinyl silicone oil, the open loop equilibrium reaction process is mainly used. In this process, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and tetramethyltetravinyl cyclotetrasiloxane are used as raw materials, and chain structures with different polymerization degrees are formed by ring-opening reaction catalyzed by acid or base.
