Green Transformation Gains Momentum

Under China’s “dual carbon” goals, the organosilicon industry’s green transition has markedly accelerated in 2026. Major enterprises now include energy intensity and carbon emissions per unit output in core KPIs. Hoshine reported that 65% of its Yunnan base’s power came from renewables in 2025, targeting 100% by 2027. Wynca reduced DMC energy consumption by 12% through waste-heat recovery and chloromethane recycling.

Policy support is robust. The Organosilicon Industry Clean Production Evaluation Index System, effective January 2026, mandates that new projects consume no more than 1.8 tons of coal equivalent and 8 tons of water per ton of DMC, and must install HCl recovery systems. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has also listed organosilicon in its “Key VOCs Comprehensive Governance Catalog,” pushing firms to upgrade closed reactors and exhaust treatment.

Innovation is key to decarbonization. Dongyue developed a “low-platinum catalytic system,” cutting precious metal use by 30%. Hongbai repurposes silicon powder waste into nano-silica. Bio-based silanes (from glycerol or sugars) remain experimental but attract investor interest.
