Dow Chemical Leads Price Increases, Global Silicone Market Faces Adjustment Wave

On November 25, 2025, global chemical giant Dow Chemical announced that starting December 10, it would raise prices by 10–20% for major silicone products under its Xiameter business line in Greater China. This move triggered a chain reaction in the industry, with domestic companies following suit, pushing the silicone market into a rising price trend. Behind this price increase is a deep adjustment in the global supply-demand landscape. No new domestic capacity is planned for 2025–2026, and some European overseas capacities face closure risks due to environmental policies. On the demand side, sectors such as new energy vehicles and photovoltaics continue to expand. In the first three quarters of 2025, domestic apparent silicone consumption reached 1.62 million tons, up 5.5% year-on-year. Analysts predict that supply-demand mismatches will become more pronounced in 2026, potentially initiating a new upward price cycle, with the industry market size expected to exceed 150 billion RMB by 2028.
