A new additive called Wetting Agent IOTA 245 has attracted attention in the coatings industry due to its outstanding core parameters, offering strong support in addressing common issues during coating application.

From a technical standpoint, Wetting Agent IOTA 245 is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with an active content exceeding 99.8%, ensuring high purity and effectiveness. At 25°C, its specific gravity is stable between 1.025 and 1.049, refractive index ranges from 1.449 to 1.451, viscosity falls within 10 to 100 cP, and its cloud point is between 50 and 60°C. It also exhibits good water solubility, providing a stable foundation for application across different systems.

As a polyether-modified silicone oil, Wetting Agent IOTA 245 features exceptionally low surface tension, granting excellent substrate wetting and penetration capabilities. This effectively prevents defects such as pinholes and orange peel during coating application, while reducing surface friction to improve coating smoothness and leveling.

The product boasts excellent compatibility, is heat resistant, blends well with other additives, and does not affect recoating properties. It is widely applicable in both water-based and solvent-based systems, especially suited for waterborne polyurethane systems. Its scope of use includes waterborne industrial coatings, dip coatings, carpet adhesives, general adhesives, waterborne wood coatings, and water-based printing pastes, among others.

Usage and Storage:
The recommended dosage is only 0.1% to 0.5%, mixed uniformly with inks, paints, or coatings. It is packaged in sealed plastic or metal drums of 25 kg, 50 kg, or 200 kg. Storage should be in a cool, dry place at room temperature, with a shelf life of one year.
