Dow Corning industry giants -- the application of new materials in contact with thewearable electronics

Organic silicon, silicon based technology and innovation in the field of global leadership -- Dow Corning announced recently, confirmed in two independentexperimental medical research program, the TPSiV r 4000 and TPSiV from 4200thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) was showed that can be safely used for skin contact applications. The experimental results provide independent evidence of strong, confirm the leading material is the skin safety of wearable electronic applications (such as smart wristband watches and fitness trackers) andequipment accessories (such as earplug) choice of the application.

According to the "in vivo detection of USA Pharmacopoeia" confirmed the general <88> chapter "study plan" biological reaction, TPSiV4000 and TPSiV4200 had no cytotoxicity, did not show the possibility of systemic toxicity and skin irritationinduced system. The test results show that, the two products can be safely used for long-term contact with the skin applications, an important standard should be in conformity with the rapid development of wearable electronic equipment marketmaterials. Dow Corning is according to the provisions of ISO10993-10-2010 skin sensitivity, further tests on these materials.
